In Brewery opened its doors to art and the public in May 2011. A building typical of the architecture of an old factory north of craft beer, has a new exhibition space for contemporary art. In a rural context of Pas de Calais, at the crossroads of Europe, it promotes exchanges with the region and foreign visitors who travel through our region across borders. The building in any length, being renovated, unveils a space of 140m2, with brick arches and steel. The first exhibition featured until last October on a photographic alternative place. Place of production, creation, display, futures artist residency, LaBrasserie find an activity. Is the opening up to everyone in this unique place, through which the question of identity, memory, and history, and that is moving into the future. The framework calls for creating unusual, its nature and context provide another reading works. This project is a continuation of the course of a journalist in contemporary art in Paris, with a deep attachment to his native region. He reflects on the past and present, the need for transmission and the role of art. With the cooperation and commitment of many artists and art professionals, it revives the place. New forms of visibility of art will increase, the spaces are designed to accommodate all disciplines, visual art installation or performance, highlighting the transversal. Through exploration, trade, a dynamic is set up between established artists, young talents and the public. Nature, the simplicity of the place help to dispel prejudices and inhibitions, emotions invite more freely. In this friendly, wilderness, communication moves through a series of visits, specific events addressing a new audience, diverse, local and Parisian, waiting for proposals quality in an unusual context.
